For the past few weeks I have been trying to come up with something to write for this site. The problem has been that I have the winter time blues. By the time I get home from work I barely want to turn on the computer, forget actually doing something. I think I need a rock hunting trip to get my energy level up.

A few weeks ago I did clean my saw. I have been using hydraulic fluid as a coolant. The problem with hydraulic fluid is it gets muddy fairly quick and in colder temperatures it seems to jell up a bit. The rock snot got really bad and after a few days of sitting the saw still had brown ooze dripping off all the parts. I refilled the saw with hydraulic fluid again; I want to use it up before moving to another coolant. It is already beginning to look nasty again. My friend Tony will be bringing me some mineral oil Saturday. I have a couple of friends that use this oil and both of them are very happy with it.

I have been doing a little bit of cabbing and cutting of slabs but not much else. Below are a few that I created in December and January. I have many more that are dopped and in various stages. Hopefully they will be done soon so I can photograph them and post the pictures.
